About Me
I am a business consultant and full-stack web developer with nearly two decades of experience working in online business. I offer the complete package. In other words, no more wasting time juggling multiple third party services. I work with you to develop a well-planned, well-executed strategy for attracting and monetizing your audience or shoppers.
A veteran of online business, I got my start in 1998 working for an e-commerce retailer. I fell in love with the digital world and all it had to offer from a business perspective, and I immediately saw the potential it had to help small and medium size companies transform their business.
I went on to create an e-commerce business of my own, selling it after 8 successful years. During that time, I expanded my knowledge of online business practices, gaining further insight into web development, marketing, and management. What’s more, I developed a thorough understanding of doing business online and why every company, even brick-and-mortar ones, need a digital presence.
These days, online business can be small one-order-a-day affairs or organizations that enjoy hundreds of millions of dollars in sales per year. I’ve worked with them all. I know how to guide small businesses that want to stay small in targeting their demographic and staying strong. I know how to help small and medium sized businesses that want to make it big find strategies for growth. Finally, I know how to effectively manage the infrastructure of companies that are already big to help them stay efficient and highly reviewed.
My latest project in conjunction with my business partner is Green Meadow Memorials. This memorial ecommerce site is a natural evolution to the work done at Perfect Memorials. A completely custom personalization engine was written from scratch as we use it to personalize cremation urns and keepsake urns for families across the United States.
Work with me to gain insight into your company. Together we can delight your customers, inspire your employees, and start you on a new path to success.
My Work
I've been doing full-stack web development for nearly 20 years. From mission-critical e-commerce sites taking hundreds of orders a day to small independent websites. All of the websites listed below were built by myself. Everything from front end designs, back end business logic, database design and more.
Perfect Memorials
This holistic multi-year effort brought Perfect Memorials from a concept startup to a national industry leader in e-commerce memorial merchandise. Together we worked on e-commerce development and an online marketing strategy that took the company from ground zero to the number one provider of memorial merchandise online in the United States.
The Challenge
My business partner and I conceptualized this bootstrapped startup. No outside funding was available and we had zero industry knowledge or connections. In fact, our seed capital totaled less than $500.
My Role
As a co-founder, I was primarily focused on the development of the e-commerce platform and all search marketing efforts. This involved extensively modifying the e-commerce platform to suit our specific business needs and managing all marketing channels from paid and non-paid sources.
Being the underdog in any industry means you spend a tremendous amount of time observing the behavior patterns of competitors and customers alike. We used competitive analysis and other forms of analytics to better understand what our customers wanted and develop an effective holistic business strategy. We achieved success thanks to a better website, improved merchandising, more product personalization, quick order turn-arounds and a marketing strategy that could effectively reach our target audience.
The Results
When I sold my ownership stake in the company in 2013, we were processing over 500 orders a day at our peak with dozens of employees in customer service, production, warehousing, design, bookkeeping and IT roles. We found tremendous success by applying two simple principles: we constantly sought to improve, and we were willing to try things our competitors weren’t.
Throughout our journey, we overcame countless obstacles. How could we effectively utilize pay-per-click advertising in a saturated market? What is the right way to run a search engine marketing campaign? Why is our competitor doing something we're not? We were able to solve all these questions with better data acquisition, data analysis and strategy execution.

Chin Track Days is the nation’s leading provider of non-competition track events. Our objective was to modernize the front end of the website while maintaining the legacy business logic. The new site is launching early 2017.
The Challenge
This .NET powered project was originally started in 2001. The site suffered from poor search rankings largely due to the lack of a proper mobile accessible website. Additionally, the front end of the website was starting to show its age, and the client wanted to refresh it.
While working on the site, I sought to not only make the webpages mobile friendly, but also employ search engine optimization (SEO) best practices to improve search engine rankings.
My Role
I completely refreshed the 50+ unique pages and make sure everything was responsive and accessible no matter what type of device was being used: desktop, tablet or phone. Best practices for the semantic structure of all pages were followed and extra attention was given to make sure all code passed W3C validation. Project roll-out will be supported early 2017 where all pages will be thoroughly tested and I will closely monitor analytics for any potential issues.
The Results
The modernized front end allows for complete accessibility and functionality for mobile users. New user registration, event registration and account modifications can all be performed. The client has chosen to roll out this project in early 2017, so we're anxious to report back once it’s live.

A small business website with a big visual impact.
The Challenge
I was challenged with creating a small business website that increased search visibility and delivered an impressive visual presentation.
My Role
I developed the complete package including logo and web design. Finally, I deliver the completed work in less than a week, avoiding platforms such as WordPress to ensure the website a high level of security.
The Results
The website looks great and was completely responsive for all mobile devices. Every page is crafted with 100% W3C compatible code. The website is already ranking highly for the client’s niche target keywords and has resulted in several customer inquiries over a short period.
Rob Tuned
Rob Tuned is an independent automotive tuner who travels the world to create some of the highest horsepower Nissan GT-R's. Our mission was to create a presentation that matched the prestige and exclusivity expected by his clients.
The Challenge
I was challenged with creating a clean mobile friendly website that allowed Rob Tuned customers to learn about his services and find partners around the world. Additionally, we sought to improve search visibility and create a small e-commerce feature to allow customers to purchase parts and services.
My Role
I oversaw end-to-end design and development. For this project, we decided to use a CMS (content management system) that allowed the client to update and revise the site at his convenience.
The Results
The end result was a presentation catered to Rob Tuned’s customers. They are now able to learn about some of Rob's accomplishments and feel comfortable handing Rob the keys to their supercars. The website is fully mobile accessible and not only allows customers to communicate directly with Rob, but also helps build brand prestige for a demanding crowd.
